BOQ Specialist and the RACGP Foundation have established a research grant to encourage innovation in preventative healthcare in general practice.

Award details

One grant of up to $20,000 (excluding GST) is available for a period of one year to provide a GP researcher or GP registrar with an opportunity to conduct research into preventive care in general practice.

This grant is made available by BOQ Specialist and administered by the RACGP Foundation.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the RACGP Foundation / BOQ Specialist research grant, the principal investigator must be a general practitioner or general practice registrar.

Selection criteria

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • training potential for applicants 30%
  • scientific quality of the proposed research project 30%
  • significance and either originality or innovation 20%
  • feasibility of carrying out and completing the research in a one-year timeframe 10%
  • potential to build capacity in general practice research 10%
